Yeti LT Geometry: The SB160 Successor Ditches Switch Infinity for Sixfinity

Yeti built its reputation on Switch Infinity, the translating pivot it licensed from Fox and rode to World Cup and EWS wins for twelve years. On July 14, 2026, the brand walked away from it. The new Yeti LT, the enduro race bike that replaces the decorated SB160, runs a six-bar linkage called Sixfinity instead, and the geometry underneath it is the most adjustable Yeti has ever shipped. This is not a refresh. It is a clean-sheet chassis with size-specific rear centers, bolt-on dropouts that add reach out back, and Yeti’s first in-frame storage.

The travel numbers stay in familiar enduro territory: 170mm up front, 160mm out back, 29-inch wheels standard with a mullet option. Everything around those numbers changed.

The LT comes in Small through XL, all sharing a 64-degree head angle and a 77.5-degree effective seat angle in the standard 29er setting. What separates the sizes is the rear center, which grows in real increments rather than staying fixed the way the SB160’s did. The reach spread is wide. A 434mm Small to a 511mm XL covers 77mm across the range, and the stack climbs 30mm alongside it, which matters more than it sounds. Yeti did not just stretch the front triangle and leave the back of the bike alone.

What Sixfinity actually changes

Switch Infinity used a short section of Kashima-coated shaft that let the main pivot translate up and then down through the travel. It worked, but it tied anti-squat, anti-rise, and leverage rate together in ways that were hard to separate. Sixfinity, the six-bar layout Yeti has run on its LTe and MTe e-bikes for a couple of seasons, uses rocker, timing, and switch links to control the wheel path and the shock. Yeti’s engineering claim is that it can now tune those three kinematic values much more independently: more pedalling support without wrecking small-bump sensitivity under braking, for example.

The practical hook for buyers is the progression chip at the lower shock mount. Three settings give 15, 20, or 25 percent progression. The 15 percent setting is nearly linear and suits coil shocks and riders who want the bike to sit into its travel; 25 percent adds bottom-out resistance for bike parks, big hits, and air-shock setups. You are changing the leverage curve, not just adding a volume spacer, and it takes a chip swap rather than a shop visit.

Size-specific chainstays, plus 10mm on tap

The headline geometry story is the rear center. The SB160 ran one chainstay length across every frame size, which is how most bikes were built until recently and which quietly punished tall riders. Put a 6-foot-4 rider on a fixed 445mm chainstay behind a 480mm reach, and the weight balance tips rearward; the front wheel wanders on climbs and washes on flat corners.

The LT scales the rear center with the front: 439mm on the Small, 442mm on the Medium, 455mm on the Large, 465mm on the XL. Then it adds a second axis. Modular bolt-on dropouts extend each size by another 10mm, so a Large can run 455mm or 465mm, and an XL can stretch to 475mm. That is a genuinely long rear end for a big frame, and it is optional rather than forced on smaller riders who do not want it.

The rest of the adjustment menu

Beyond the progression chip and the dropouts, the LT carries two more geometry adjustments:

  • Wheel-size flip chip. Swap between full 29er and a mixed-wheel (29 front, 27.5 rear) setup while holding the geometry roughly constant. Yeti tuned the chip so the mullet configuration does not drop the BB into the dirt or steepen the head angle the way a straight rear-wheel swap would.
  • Slack chip for MX. In the mixed-wheel setup, a separate low/slack position drops the bottom bracket by 6mm and slackens the head angle by half a degree to 63.5, with the seat angle easing to 77 and stack rising a few millimetres. It is there for riders who run a mullet specifically to get lower and slacker, not just to keep the smaller rear wheel.

Stack that up: three progression settings, two rear-center lengths per size, two wheel configurations, and a slack position. Few enduro bikes give this much range without aftermarket parts.

Reading the ride from the numbers

A 64-degree head angle and a 351mm BB height are middle-of-the-road for a 2026 enduro bike, and that is deliberate. This is not a mini-DH bike chasing the slackest possible head tube. The 77.5-degree seat angle keeps you over the pedals on steep climbs, which a 160mm-travel race bike needs to earn its transfer stages. Where the LT gets aggressive is wheelbase: 1,288mm on a Large and 1,331mm on an XL are long, and combined with the growing rear center they should deliver the planted, high-speed composure that made the SB160 a race winner, without the twitchy front-heavy feel a short chainstay gives a long front-center bike.

The 620 to 650mm stack range is the other quiet upgrade. Taller stack keeps your hands higher and your weight more centered on steep terrain, and it is the number most brands underbuilt for years. Yeti giving the XL a 650mm stack acknowledges that a rider tall enough for a 511mm reach also wants the bar height to match.

How it stacks against the SB160 it replaces

The SB160 was a fixed-chainstay, Switch Infinity bike with no frame storage. The LT keeps the travel and the race intent but changes almost everything else: Sixfinity instead of Switch Infinity, size-specific rear centers instead of one length, adjustable dropouts, the progression chip, and The Cavity, Yeti’s down-tube storage compartment with a molded door and a roller-cam latch. There is even a hidden slot sized for an AirTag or Tile tracker. For a brand that resisted in-frame storage long after its competitors added it, that is a notable concession to how people actually use these bikes.

The frame is TURQ Series carbon only, reinforced with Vectran for impact protection, and offered in two colorways: the white-and-turquoise TURQ finish and a darker Nightout scheme. Claimed weight for the flagship X0 build is 15.81kg in 29er trim and 15.62kg as a mullet, which is competitive but not remarkably light for the money.

Sizing, and a note for tall riders

Yeti’s size-specific rear center is the reason the XL is worth a closer look if you are over 6-foot-2. The 511mm reach is long but not extreme by 2026 standards, and the 465mm chainstay (475mm with the longer dropouts) finally gives a big frame the balance a tall rider has been missing. At 6-foot-4, the combination of a 650mm stack, 511mm reach, and a stretchable rear end is close to the ideal an analytical tall rider spends years chasing across brands that build one chainstay for everyone.

Riders between sizes should think about how they ride before defaulting to the smaller frame. The LT rewards the longer, more stable setups; if you want a playful bike, the Small and Medium with the standard dropouts stay lively, while the Large and XL with the extended rear center lean toward race pace.

Where it lands and what it costs

The LT sits at the top of Yeti’s pedal-powered enduro line as the direct SB160 replacement, above the shorter-travel SB135 and SB160-adjacent trail bikes and alongside the Sixfinity-equipped LTe e-bike it borrows its suspension philosophy from. Cross-shopped against other 2026 enduro race platforms, it lands near the Orbea Rallon on price and travel but offers more adjustment range. US pricing runs $8,400 for the X0/90 build, $8,900 for the XT Di2, and $10,200 for the flagship X0 AXS, with a frame-only option at $5,000. UK buyers see the LT 90 at £7,899 and the LT X0 at £9,799, frame-only £4,699.

None of it is cheap, which has always been the Yeti tax. What you are paying for now is a chassis that adjusts across more axes than anything Yeti has built, wrapped around a suspension platform the brand clearly intends to run for the next decade the way it ran Switch Infinity for the last one. For enduro riders who value tuning range and tall riders who have been shortchanged by fixed chainstays, the LT is the most interesting bike Yeti has released in years.
